Landscaping Design Services in Darien
About Darien
Darien is a city of established neighborhoods and broad front lawns, where trees planted in the postwar years have grown into a beautiful, settled canopy.
Its southern edge meets Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, some 2,500 acres of woodland, prairie, and bluffs, where trails lead to the Rocky Glen waterfall built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Within the city, Cherry Lawn Park and the Darien Nature Center offer gardens, a pond, and wooded paths, and the oak woodland of Oldfield Oaks Forest Preserve brings a quieter kind of wild close to home.
Darien is also home to the National Shrine of St. Therese, a place of reflection known well beyond the western suburbs. The work that suits Darien properties is rarely a redesign. More often it is a lawn restored beneath the trees, beds brought back into order, and water guided away from a corner that has always stayed wet.

How We Care For Homes In Darien
Questions From Darien
The lawn is thin under our trees. Can mowing help?
The right mowing height keeps it from thinning further. Filling it back in takes aeration, overseeding, and an honest look at light and water, and we'll tell you what the yard can realistically support.
Our downspouts empty into a corner that never dries. Is that landscaping?
It is drainage work, and we handle it. Moving the water is far more useful than reseeding the same spot every spring.
When is aeration and overseeding worth scheduling?
When shade and foot traffic have thinned the lawn and the soil is ready for seed, usually in early fall. If drainage is the underlying problem, we address that first.
